This farmhouse is an estate that dates back to 1769, and it is made up of 22 hectars of olive groves. It is located on 'Poggio', the Tuscan name for a little hill, which dominates the valley of the Ombrone river. It is about 10 km from Grosseto, Maremma's main town, and about. 20 km from an uncontaminated seaside, typical of Maremma. Castiglion della Pescaia which is an ancient medieval fortress village,about 30 km from the sea. Do not forget a visit Scansano, the village of the delicious wine "Morellino", only 18 km away. Siena is 70 km, Montalcino the famous wine town is 50 km away, as well as Saturnia a very nice village with hot termal waters. For all nature lovers there is the large property park and only 20 km away the beautiful "Parco dell'uccellina" a natural protected area. Maremma is furthermore rich in ruins of the etruscan people; the nearest are located in Roselle, a village about 10 km from the farmhouse. At about 4 km there is Istia d'Ombrone, with the ruins of the ancient castle and some shops and a restaurant, which has the typical food of the area.The farm mantains the tipical old style of a maremma farm from the 18th century. A typical Tuscan road which is surrounded by cypress woods, leads to the main villa and to the large garden. The farmhouses on the medieveal farm and the rooms are in and around the main villa. These have been completely renovated respecting the original architecture.
